The past 8-10th September took place a conference in Alexandria to prepare the next wave of the WVS2010. The objectives of the workshop were to discuss and coordinate the 2010 World Values Survey for the MENA-region.

The topics covered by the conference were:

• Comparative Surveys in MENA as a part of the 2010 WVS wave
• The 2010 master questionnaire and an Islamic ballot, how to improve the Islamic ballot but still keep the time-series
• Methodology, coordination of the surveys and documentation principles
• Piloting with GPS-based spatial sampling in the Mena-region
• Capacity building and training of field workers and dissemination, media and joint publications from partners in the region in collective edited voumes.
